With the UK finally beginning to heal from the wounds sustained during the recession, the manufacturing sector looks to be one of the strongest areas for growth.
The Markit/CIPS Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for the manufacturing sector recorded a level of 56.7 in January. Although this was down from December's 57.2, it still marks well above average growth in the sector. A reading above 50 indicates expansion.
Manufacturing accounts for around a tenth of Britain's economy, which expanded by 0.7% in the final three months of last year. This continued expansion in the sector has also meant that employment has increased, rising for a ninth consecutive month.
At Metroplan over 40% of our products are manufactured at our factory in the UK, maintaining uncompromising levels of quality and value.
Our machinery and operations take products from raw-materials and make them ready for assembly by our skilled team. Our in-house box making machine then creates customized packages for each product.
With more investment into UK manufacturing being encouraged, Metroplan looks ahead to a bright future of creation, innovation and expansion.
